Don’t really understand why all my pictures on this blog have suddenly decided to look like they’re bad quality. Fixing it.
My beautiful babies. I’ve been giving them so much love recently that the two of them got chubs so starting today we’ll be going on daily walks. Come join us!

Wilting Flowers by David Harris
Like the wilting flowers sometimes, love can die away.
The beauty that first enhanced us withers as days and years pass.
Until like the candle, its light goes dim and love finally fades into a distant past to where it once was supreme.
We cry out for it to return, our eyes filled with bitter tears, but once gone it cannot return from the past where it is sent.
We must let it go to enable us to carry on.

This was literally the best brunch I ever had in Paris. The atmosphere was wonderful and the food was delicious. I would definitely recommend the hot chocolate here!

Here are some pictures of the windows display in Paris. As you might know, Repetto is a French ballet shoes company but they have expanded their collection to include many every day shoes. My dad actually brought the shop into Korea and so it was wonderful to see the store in Paris. The theme of the windows in Paris when I went was Petits Rats created by the artist Laure Freymuth. I looked at window displays for my art A level and learnt the importance of presenting products in a limited amount of space to capture the eyes of customers. I think this display is beautiful and definitely would make people want to wonder into the store to see what they have.
This is a double spread I did on John Piper. He is honestly one of my favourite English artists. The way he creates a certain mood by just using a selection of colours is really impressive. I did the painting on the left to experiment with the style of the artist. I used non-waterproof pens to make the lines smudge if any water was added. Moreover, I also tried to work with the red wash present in the painting by John Piper on the same page.
The painting on the second page is also in the style of John Piper. It was done from direct observation while I sat on the fields outside school. I felt that many school buildings would link well with the atmosphere of John Piper as school buildings are sometimes just as old and mysterious looking as the churches and graveyards that John Piper painted. I achieved the following effect by staining the page black and brown first with watercolour, drawing the building with different materials such as pens, pencils and pastels. I added tints of red, orange and yellow to mirror the original work that Piper did then added white lines to portray lights coming out of windows.
